Little Miss Christmas crowned
It was cute, charming, and everything else one would expect from a Little Miss Christmas tiffany jewellery pageant.
And it was a first for Corning.
On Saturday afternoon, six little girls gathered at Woodson Elementary to participate in Corning’s inaugural Little Miss Christmas pageant.
The pageant was part of this week’s Hometown Christmas event and the money clips newly crowned winner, Angelina Massey, 5, of Corning, will reign as royalty along with Miss Corning Noelle Miller during this Saturday’s festivities.
Massey’s co-contestants were Taylor Lyle, 5, Alexis Drum, 4, Emily Rodriguez, 5, Olivia Fry, 5, Mariah Cornett, 5.
Miller served as the events master of ceremonies introducing the little contestants, who began the show by singing and dancing to “Up on the Rooftop.”
As part of the contest, each little girl introduced herself, and Miller asked each of them questions during the personality interview.
Each girl was escorted by a family member to take a final walk across the stage as pendants Miller announced the winner. All of the contestants received a sash, flowers and trophy and Massey also received a crown.
Other performers during the event were Miss Tehama County Paige Prinz and second-alternate Kerry Delfonte, who sang a variety of Christmas songs.
Little Miss judges were Courtney Fichter, Miss Glenn County first alternate, Morgan Rainwater, co-director of Miss Tehama County Scholarship Program, and Prinz.
Corning’s first Little Miss Christmas was organized by Miller and Sonya Akers and earrings sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, Tehama County Scholarship Program, Miss Corning Program, Shane Akers Photography and Annies Garden.
